SEA CHURCH HISTORY

We are a local Seattle Church that started in February 2018. We have loved serving the city of Seattle while growing in our faith as a community over these past 4 years. If there is one thing we know for sure, it is that we are just getting started and God has great plans for our young church community!

As a new and growing community, we were hitting our stride and truly getting established when the pandemic arrived in 2020. In an effort to honor the local governance and regulations, we shut down throughout the pandemic and closed all large group gatherings. We moved our teachings to Youtube and continued to offer pastoral care, opportunities for prayer, and smaller gatherings in homes within the guidance of the local restrictions. During this season of patience and obedience to how we felt the Spirit of God leading us to navigate the pandemic, we began to pray and ask God for the next steps he had for us in the city.

With restrictions lifted and a desire to worship together and build community once again, over the summer of 2022 we started seeking our next venue with the intention of reopening SEA Church for public services again. We are beyond thankful and excited to have found our next home at University Heights Community Center in the north end of UDistrict. We are taking this current season to invest in our culture and values while we grow our community and get to know our new home and neighbors. We would love to meet you during this season and will be gathering weekly at UHeights on Sundays at 10 am.

We will be officially reopening weekly Sunday services with full kids programs on our 5th birthday, Sunday, February 12th, 2023!

Denominational affiliation and networks:

SEA Church is an independent, autonomous, non-denominational Christian Church. Through Pastors Aaron and Rachel’s 11 years of overseas ministry experience, we are relationally connected with many churches globally, but not officially affiliated with any. After nearly 5 years in the city as a young community of faith, we feel we are just beginning to find our stride and love how God is shaping the identity of our community!

We are excited to be growing in our friendship with many local churches and ministries across the city. We love knowing that we are all on the same team and running in the lanes that God has for each of our communities!
